TrendForce’s latest research report indicates that, due to the ongoing tight supply of DRAM, HBM suppliers’ bargaining power has strengthened, and HBM contract prices are expected to rise several-fold again in 2027. Since the second half of 2025, traditional DRAM prices have continued to rise significantly, reflecting a supply-and-demand environment that is becoming increasingly constrained. However, according to TrendForce’s latest research, the annual pricing mechanism used by the world’s three major HBM suppliers (Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron Technology) has prevented HBM contract prices from promptly and fully reflecting the increases in quarterly market prices. As the second quarter of 2026 comes to an end, negotiations between HBM buyers and suppliers have shifted to HBM4 supply agreements for 2027. TrendForce expects that the HBM contract price for 2027 is likely to increase substantially. (Cailian Press)
