Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahar Gai issued a statement on the 29th, strongly condemning the United States' threatening remarks against the Sultanate of Oman, calling it "an attempt to extort an independent United Nations member state." Bahar Gai said that threatening sanctions against Oman under baseless pretexts is "absolutely illegal," violating the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. He urged the international community to respond responsibly to such actions to prevent the normalization of violations of international law. (Xinhua News Agency)
