At a press conference held by the Gansu Provincial Government Information Office on the 2nd, it was announced that Gansu continues to improve the basin ecological compensation mechanism, exploring the use of the status of characteristic pollutant improvement as an important basis for compensation fund accounting in cross-provincial horizontal ecological compensation. Xue Lei, Deputy Director of the Gansu Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment, introduced that by 2025, relevant departments in Gansu will formulate and issue the "Implementation Plan for Further Improving the Horizontal Ecological Protection Compensation Mechanism," adhering to coordinated planning and promotion of the left and right banks, upstream and downstream, and accelerating the establishment and improvement of intra-provincial and inter-provincial horizontal ecological compensation mechanisms for the Yellow River, Yangtze River, and inland river basins.
