I just got the itch again to chase after something, and the moment I open the candlestick chart, I’ll pause first: is it that I’m truly seeing some new information, or am I purely being pushed along by the price increase and the mood in the group? Put bluntly, most of the time it’s the latter—the line in my head, “Don’t miss out,” rings louder than “I understand this protocol.” Thinking it over, the recent NFT royalty drama is also pretty similar: on the one hand, people say they want to support creators; on the other, they complain that it affects secondary liquidity. Everyone talks about principles, but in their hands they’re all calculating their own little gains. Anyway, I’ve set a small rule for myself: if I can’t clearly explain the logic, don’t add to my position. If I really want to buy, I’ll first scale down my position size—consider it paying tuition to watch the show.
