Mars Finance reports that, according to market sources, Korean police are investigating domestic users of Polymarket, the world's largest prediction market platform, accusing it of violating Article 246 of the Criminal Act (gambling crime), which could result in a fine of up to 10 million Korean won. This investigation is led by the Gangwon Police Agency at the request of the National Police Agency, marking Korea's first criminal investigation targeting Polymarket users, covering users nationwide. It is reported that Korean users place bets on the platform using USD stablecoins, with no restrictions set by the platform; even a single local election event has attracted hundreds of billions of Korean won in bets.
