I just turned off the "auto re-invest + restake" switch for a certain project, and my mind instantly calmed down. The thrill of stacking gains upon gains sounds pretty satisfying, but honestly, a lot of it is just an illusion: who is really safeguarding that underlying security? Changing contract permissions, rerouting fund flows, the small interest earned earlier might not even cover the "tuition fees." Recently, L2s have been arguing over TPS, fees, and subsidies. I find it amusing—no matter how generous the subsidies are, don’t treat the risks as nonexistent. Anyway, I’d rather eat less meat now than be fed a "surprise" by an unvested lock-up + anonymous team.
