ZachXBT Warning on Rain Protocol Risks: It is advised not to engage, as the RAIN price may be subject to on-chain manipulation.
On June 5th, on-chain investigator ZachXBT issued a community alert, recommending users to "avoid contact with Rain Protocol (RAIN) at all costs."
He pointed out that RAIN has a market cap of about $8.8 billion, but has few users, limited product traction, and lacks well-known supporters; the team’s background is unverifiable.
Next, three things need to be monitored: whether related funds continue to flow in, whether on-chain trading volume and holdings keep expanding, and whether the project team or regulators provide new confirmation information.
A single news flash can only indicate that sentiment has been ignited; subsequent data will determine whether it can develop into a trend.
Risks should also be on the table: tracking shows that the source of funds is related to Gems hot wallets and CEX deposit addresses, which have previously transferred funds for failed projects like Data Ownership Protocol (DOP), TOMI, etc., indicating possible overlaps with the team.
ZachXBT states that there are signs of on-chain manipulation in RAIN’s price, with related addresses linked to the deployer through Uni V3 LP, and spot transfers mixed through Gems hot wallets.
