Recently, a bunch of Meme + celebrity calls have been trending on hot searches one after another, newcomers watch the excitement and rush in... Old players' saying "Don't take the last baton" is really not just pretending to understand. Actually, you just need to connect those scary words (data availability, ordering, finality) into a line: at the moment you place an order, who sees the transaction first, in what order it gets queued, and whether it can finally settle stably without regret. To put it simply, the data should be verifiable by everyone (not just one node deciding), the ordering shouldn't be manipulated by someone (that little MEV trick relies on this), and the faster and more solid the finality, the less likely you are to be taught a lesson by slippage and reorganization when you think the trade is done. Anyway, when I see emotional trading now, I first look at on-chain congestion and routing, so as not to let attention be stolen by fees and slippage.
