Today, when checking on-chain data, it "lagged again," and my first reaction was actually to blame my poor internet connection... Then I thought about it more like a snooze button on an alarm clock: it's not that the time hasn't passed, but that the moment was held down. Indexers/Subgraphs are basically just organizing the messy stuff on the chain before showing it to you; since there are many people organizing and querying, there will be queues; RPCs also have rate limits, in simple terms, "don't come in too many at once." So sometimes it's not the market messing with you, but the window you're looking through is gasping for air. By the way, I also thought of the recent NFT royalty debate, which is the same issue: everyone wants smoother transactions but also doesn't want to starve the creators... In the end, the bottleneck isn't usually technology, but people's expectations.
