The People's Bank of China hosts an academic lecture on the Monetary Policy Committee

On May 29, the People’s Bank of China held an academic lecture of the Monetary Policy Committee. Pan Gongsheng, Party Secretary of the People’s Bank of China and Governor, attended and presided over the lecture. Xu Zhibin and Liu Bin, Vice Governors of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, were in attendance, and Vice Governor Li Bin delivered a summary speech.

Li Yang, a member of the Academic Division of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Chairman of the Board of the National Institute of Finance and Development, gave a presentation titled “Money, Interest Rates and Monetary Policy.” Focusing on issues including monetary theory, interest rate marketization, and the transformation of international monetary policy and governance paradigms, he introduced research findings and constructive thinking, and exchanged views with participants on site.

The various departments and branches of the People’s Bank of China, certain affiliated units, stationed discipline inspection and supervision teams, and relevant colleagues from departments of the State Administration of Foreign Exchange participated in the lecture at the main venue and sub-venues.
