Reporters learned today (the 1st) from the State Administration for Market Regulation that the "Regulations on the Protection of Trade Secrets" will come into effect starting today, detailing legal requirements, clarifying corporate compliance guidelines, and for the first time including "data" and "algorithms" within the scope of trade secret protection. At the same time, it specifically refines confidentiality requirements in remote work and cross-border collaboration scenarios, clarifying that "permission levels, data desensitization, and operation log traces" are reasonable confidentiality measures. It is understood that by the end of 2025, a total of 434 institutional achievements such as guidelines, standards, and norms have been issued in 46 pilot regions nationwide, effectively consolidating the foundation of protection systems. In 2025, 154 trade secret protection cases were investigated and handled. While increasing case handling efforts, attention is also paid to the warning role of typical cases, with a focus on investigating, handling, and exposing a number of influential typical cases.
