My property tax went from $3,800 in 2019 to $7,200 in 2025.

Same house. Same roof.
Same crack in the driveway the city never fixed.
$7,200 a year just to stay in something I already own and already paid taxes on when I bought it.
So let me get this straight.
I paid sales tax when I bought it.
I pay property tax every year to keep it.
I pay insurance every month to protect it.
I pay income tax on the money I used to pay for all of it.
One house. Four separate taxes.
And the school district it sits in still asks me to donate supplies every September.
You never actually own a home.
You just become the person responsible for the government’s cut of it.
Every year.
Forever until you die.
And then they tax your kids for inheriting it.
