Recently, someone has been watching large on-chain transfers, and as soon as an exchange’s hot and cold wallets move, they say, “Smart money is coming.” I’ll admit I’m a little envious… After all, one transfer can make the comment section explode, while I’m still flipping through the attachments to the proposal.

But honestly, don’t be intimidated by terms like “data availability / ordering / finality.” Just grab onto the main thread: when the transaction records you see count as “visible to everyone,” when they count as “not subject to change,” and who has the authority to get in line first in the middle. Large transfers may stir up emotions, but what truly determines whether you get front-run or whether you have to wait half a day before it all counts is actually this chain of events.

Right now, I’m more concerned about: who gets incentives for the power to order transactions, exactly how many steps finality takes, and whether governance clearly spells out the costs and risks for this process… For now, that’s it—I'll take it slow and keep watching.
