Market sentiment and prices are diverging, while trading volume and open interest (OI) are somewhat conflicting.

30 minutes ago, the top was still $OPN with a 67.84% increase; now it has shifted to $OPN with a 76.33% increase, and the change in the top position itself signals capital rotation in the futures market.
The bullish side is very strong in price.
$OPN has risen from 0.1291 to a peak of 0.274 in 24 hours, now at 0.228, with a gain still above 76.33%.
Trading volume is 829.3 million, which is high for a new top-ranked asset, indicating that this is not a quiet pump but that the market has entered a full-viewing zone.
The bearish side is even more exaggerated in position.
$LAB 's 24-hour open interest surged from a low base to 21.47 million USD, an increase of 302.4%, showing that new positions are clearly flowing in.
However, the 1-hour change in OI is -3.1%, indicating that in the short term, it’s not about adding more positions for a push, but rather some positions are retreating or being rotated at high levels.
Experienced traders have seen this script many times; the biggest fear isn’t rapid gains, but that after the rise, OI doesn’t follow, trading volume shrinks, and ultimately only the price remains in the air, posing.
The capital structure also doesn’t show a one-sided bullish dominance.
Funding rate is 0.005%, and bullish traders have been paying for 8 consecutive periods, indicating that long positions’ costs are continuously accumulating.
The taker buy dominance shifted from the previous top $OPN at 1.21 to the current at 0.99, suggesting that active buy orders haven’t clearly overwhelmed active sell orders.
Retail longs account for 44%, which isn’t extremely crowded, but the long-short ratio of major accounts is 1.82, indicating that large traders are more bullish, and attention should be paid to whether they continue to hold their positions.
The market’s real focus isn’t on the percentage increase but whether it can regain volume and break back above after reaching the 0.274 high.
If trading volume continues to shrink, OI keeps falling back, and the price remains around 0.228 with sideways movement, it suggests this wave is more about profit-taking after a rally.
Only if OI turns positive again, the taker buy dominance reclaims above 1, and the price near 0.274 doesn’t get pushed back down, can we say there’s still capital willing to continue the show in the second half.
