According to Beijing Business Daily, Macau has completed system integration with the multilateral central bank digital currency bridge mBridge project. With Macau's official inclusion, the multilateral central bank digital currency bridge now has six official members. The mBridge project is led jointly by the People's Bank of China, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Central Bank of Thailand, and the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates, with the Innovation Center of the Bank for International Settlements coordinating and promoting. It is a cross-border payment and settlement platform for central bank digital currencies based on blockchain and distributed ledger technology.
