BlockBeats News message, June 4 — In an interview with a podcast from The New York Post, U.S. President Donald Trump said he hopes Vice President Vance and Secretary of State Rubio will team up to run in the 2028 U.S. presidential election, and he said, “If they run together, I don’t know how anyone else could beat them.”

Trump said both are highly capable, their relationship is very amicable, and they would form “an incredible team,” but ultimately it still requires the consent of both individuals. He did not specify who should run for president and who should serve as vice president.

Due to restrictions in the U.S. Constitution, Trump will be unable to participate in the 2028 election after the end of his second term. At present, Vance and Rubio are widely regarded as potential successors within the Republican Party. The latest polls show that among Republican voters, support levels for the two are neck and neck, while Rubio has previously hinted that if Vance decides to run for president, he might choose to step aside.
