Golden Finance reports that on June 4th, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated that he does not plan to donate to this year's U.S. midterm elections, while other Silicon Valley billionaires have pledged to invest heavily in an effort to influence the midterm elections that will determine control of Congress. Altman said during a visit to Washington on Wednesday that although he personally does not intend to make political donations, he understands those who have pledged to fund campaigns, given the increasing opposition voices against his industry. "You can't demand that we be treated differently from all our competitors. If they try to unite with money to suppress us, we must be able to fight back," Altman said after meeting with Senator Bernie Sanders on Capitol Hill. "But I also very much hope to see a change in the overall rules." "I want to see money exit the political arena," he added. (Sina Finance)
