Arkham: Whether the Zcash chain is halted is in doubt, or it is only a delay issue with the blockchain explorer after the upgrade.
BlockBeats News: June 4, according to monitoring by the crypto data platform Arkham Intelligence, multiple block explorers for the privacy coin Zcash have not shown new block confirmations within the past few hours, sparking community discussions about whether the network has already stalled.
Arkham stated that, after filtering based on Zcash on-chain transaction records, no new on-chain transfer records have been observed for more than 5 hours. As a result, some users believe the Zcash network may have stopped producing blocks. However, there is currently no evidence proving that the mainnet has completely stopped running. Some community members said the issue may be caused by failures in the data nodes that block explorers depend on, rather than an interruption in the Zcash consensus network itself. Meanwhile, some Zcash mining pool monitoring pages still show that new blocks are being produced continuously.
Another speculation is related to a recent network upgrade. On May 29, the development team found a vulnerability in the Orchard Shielded Pool (Orchard private pool) and completed a fix and network upgrade on June 1. Some developers believe that block explorers may experience synchronization delays after the upgrade and are still catching up with the latest block data.
As of the time of writing, the official Zcash team has not confirmed a network halt, and the cause of the issue still needs further investigation. If it is later confirmed that it is only a block explorer or node synchronization failure, it will not affect on-chain consensus and fund security. If it is confirmed that abnormal mainnet block production has occurred, it may affect transaction confirmations and network stability.
The situation is still developing, and the community continues to monitor changes in Zcash nodes, mining pools, and block heights.
