Gold Financial reports that on June 4th, according to media citing informed sources, Meta has delayed multiple times the plan to release its new Muse Spark AI model API to developers, and as of Tuesday, the API still has no confirmed release date. A Meta spokesperson said on Wednesday that the company has begun testing the API with some early partners and expects to release it this month. An API is a software interface used to determine how two software systems interact.
Meta's AI head Alexandr Wang announced on the X platform in a post in April: "Muse Spark API is coming soon." Meta launched Muse Spark in April, which is the company's first model created to narrow the gap with competitors. Muse Spark is the first in a new series of models developed by the company's Superintelligence Labs.
Earlier this Wednesday, Meta released an AI agent designed to assist enterprises with daily operations, hinting at the company's ambition to compete with rivals such as OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google's parent company Alphabet (GOOGL.O). (Sina Finance)
