Gold Financial News reports that on June 3rd, according to the Financial Times of the UK, as Meta seeks to open up new significant revenue streams for WhatsApp, future WhatsApp business users will be able to use AI agents to automatically respond to customer messages. This move is one of Meta's first efforts to commercialize its latest round of billion-dollar AI investments, rather than relying solely on core advertising monetization. Meta's new product, "Business AI Agent," has begun global rollout after being tested in a few markets over the past few months. The tool can automatically reply to customer messages, provide business feedback and data insights to merchants, and in some scenarios, complete sales conversions or appointment scheduling without human intervention. In the future, this feature will also be extended to the Instagram messaging system. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated via video at the product launch in London on Wednesday, "A few years ago, I said that every business would eventually have its own AI agent, just as today every company has an email, website, and social media account. And the pace of this development has even exceeded my expectations."
