Crypto World News reports that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated at a Senate Finance Committee hearing that the Treasury is advancing the strategic Bitcoin reserves and digital asset reserves established under the Trump executive order at a "cautious pace," and described the related work as a new technology and new field that requires adopting best practices that can be sustained long-term. Bessent also said that the U.S. government is promoting progress in legislation related to digital assets and encourages support for the Clarity Act to keep digital asset businesses and regulatory frameworks within the United States. The U.S. currently holds approximately 328.4k BTC, worth about $21.5 billion.
