Andrew Yang’s Noble Mobile Acquires Helium Mobile—What’s Next for HNT? - Crypto Economy

TL;DR:

  • Noble Mobile completed a $10.3 million seed funding round in September.
  • The Helium network features a connectivity infrastructure of over 138,900 community hotspots.
  • The HNT token recorded a seven-day (7D) deflation rate of 9.72% at the time of the report’s publication.

The U.S. company Helium Mobile was acquired by Noble Mobile, a telecom startup founded by former presidential candidate Andrew Yang. The goal of this purchase is to integrate the existing user base into the acquiring company’s business model. The announcement of the commercial transaction became effective following the acquirer’s fundraising efforts in the third quarter of 2025.

Unlike traditional corporations in the sector, Noble Mobile markets unlimited data for a fixed monthly fee and refunds capital to users who consume less than a set limit.

The acquisition grants the buying firm direct access to the decentralized infrastructure.

According to technical data revealed by the source, the company leases network spectrum from T-Mobile and is now obligated to redirect its data traffic through the coverage provided by the community nodes of the acquired ecosystem.

Institutional Separation and Market Balance

The structure of the agreement raised questions among users regarding the governance of a platform that defines itself as decentralized.

Helium co-founder Amir Haleem publicly clarified that the commercial cellular division and the underlying decentralized network operate independently.

The administration of the DePIN network remains under the exclusive management of the Nova Labs organization. Node operators will continue to receive economic incentives through the issuance of the native token for providing connectivity services to allied corporations such as AT&T.

According to the Blockworks report, the protocol burns approximately $50,000 daily in data credits through its deflationary mechanism. Commercial records indicate that the demand for information transfer exceeds the issuance levels of new assets.

The change in corporate control raised doubts about potential modifications to mobile customers’ pricing plans. Official communications published on the corporate blog state that the competitive pricing policy will remain in effect during the institutional transition phase.

On the other hand, the technical mechanisms regulating the cryptographic ecosystem will not undergo operational modifications due to this commercial transaction. The market value of the token recorded a marginal increase of 1% in the 24 hours prior to the close of the report.
