Cathie Wood: Bitcoin price forecast rises to $1.5 million, sparking debate between gold and cryptocurrencies

Crypto information site reports that Cathie Wood has recently raised her bullish prediction for Bitcoin to $1.5 million, sparking a debate about Bitcoin versus gold. She reiterated Bitcoin’s fundamental target of approximately $730k and expects it could reach $1.5 million by 2030. Wood believes that although there are cyclical corrections, Bitcoin’s long-term upward trend remains unchanged, and she views it as a hedge against currency devaluation. In response, Canadian mining investor Frank Giustra quickly reacted, rejecting this forecast and saying that Bitcoin will not reach $1 million. Giustra emphasized that many traditional precious metals investors still prefer physical gold as a reliable store of value. Wood’s latest outlook is built on Ark Invest’s recent series of bullish predictions, which expect that Bitcoin’s potential upside will increase as institutional adoption accelerates.

I've looked at Ark's model; it's logically consistent, but the market never follows the script.

Cathy Wood’s forecast has a wide range: the 730,000 would double directly to 1.5 million, and we’ll see the result in 2030.

2030 is too far away; let's wait until next year's halving first.

Gaiostra also has a point; the older generation indeed recognizes gold but not code.
