⚛️ Microsoft's New Quantum Chip Raises Concerns for Bitcoin

Microsoft has unveiled its Majorana 2 quantum chip, claiming a 1,000x improvement in reliability compared to the previous generation. The company also said AI has significantly accelerated research and improved manufacturing precision, with a goal of achieving a truly scalable quantum computer by 2029.

The announcement has reignited discussions around "Q-Day" — the point at which quantum computers become powerful enough to break modern encryption standards. Some estimates suggest that up to $461 billion worth of Bitcoin could be vulnerable if such a breakthrough occurs.

While Google has projected Q-Day could arrive around 2032, some researchers believe the milestone may come sooner, potentially as early as 2030.
