Gate Stock Trading Tips — A Beginner-Friendly Step-by-Step Tutorial
Seeing so many people on the forum asking, “How do I use Gate to buy US stocks?”, I’m going to write a detailed tutorial—everything is based on the pitfalls I’ve personally stepped into.
First step: Open the Gate App, and tap “Trade” in the bottom navigation bar. Then you’ll see two tabs: “Crypto” and “Stocks.” Tap “Stocks”.
Second step: Click the magnifying glass in the top-right corner, and search for the stock code you want to buy. For example, NVDA. The search is case-insensitive, but it’s best to use uppercase.
Third step: After you enter the stock details page, you’ll see the current price, the change percentage, the K-line chart, and the buy/sell order book. At the bottom, there are two buttons: “Buy” and “Sell”.
Fourth step: Tap “Buy”. Choose the order type. A limit order is to buy at a specified price; a market order will be executed immediately at the current best available price. Beginners are recommended to use market orders—they’re simple. Experienced traders can use limit orders to place orders that wait for execution.
Fifth step: Enter the quantity (shares). Gate supports fractional shares. The minimum is 0.0001 shares? I tried 0.01 shares and it worked fine. After you enter it, the system will automatically calculate the required USDT amount.
Sixth step: Check the estimated trading fee. After you confirm everything is correct, slide the confirmation bar to place the order.
Seventh step: After the trade is completed, tap “Assets” -> “Stocks” at the bottom to view your holdings. You can also check pending (unfilled) orders in “Current Orders”.
Extra tips:
· If you want to place a limit order but keep it open for a long time, pay attention to the order validity period. Gate generally defaults to “Good for Day.” You can change it to “Good till Canceled” (GTC).
· When closing a position, tap “Market Close” on the right side of your holdings to sell instantly with one click.
· You can view the funds transaction history in “Order History”. For each order, you can see the execution average price, time, and ID.
My first order was placed exactly like this. The whole process took less than a minute. It’s really not hard—dare to try.
