According to Yonhap News Agency, the Central Election Commission of South Korea stated that the Incheon Election Commission has reported Incheon mayoral candidate Yoo Jeong-bok to the Incheon Police Department on suspicion of violating the Public Official Election Act. Yoo is accused of falsely reporting assets in his candidate property declaration; his spouse's actual declared assets should be corrected from 439 million Korean won (approximately $291k) to about 518 million Korean won (approximately $344k), and the total family assets should be amended to approximately 291k Korean won (about $344k). Previously, media raised suspicions that his spouse held about 21k cryptocurrencies and transferred them to overseas exchanges, but these were not disclosed in the local election candidate asset declaration; the specific cryptocurrencies and their values were not disclosed.
