According to Yonhap News Agency, South Korea’s Central Election Management Committee said that the Incheon Election Management Committee has filed a report with the Incheon Police Agency against People Power Party Incheon mayoral candidate Yoo Jeong-bok on suspicion of violating the Public Official Election Act. Yoo is accused of making a false declaration of his assets. The assets that his spouse actually declared should be revised from 439 million Korean won (about $291,000) to about 518 million Korean won (about $344,000), and the family’s total assets should be corrected to about 1.922 billion Korean won (about $127.6 million). Earlier, some media reported doubts, saying that his spouse held approximately 21,000 crypto assets and transferred them to overseas exchanges, but they were not listed in the local election candidate asset declaration. The relevant cryptocurrencies and their values were not disclosed.

Does the spouse's held coins, the candidate truly not know? I express doubt.

If this news had come out half a year ago, Yoo probably would have been finished.

South Korea's election authorities are quite meticulous, even checking the encrypted assets of spouses.
