Windsurf has been renamed to Devin Desktop, becoming a unified control center for local and cloud AI agents. The new platform supports open-source ACP, allowing third-party agents to connect and share context and collaborate within a unified view. The core component is the locally reconstructed Devin Local AI agent in Rust, improving token efficiency by 30% and adding support for sub-agents; the original Cascade AI agent will continue to be supported until July 1, 2026. Devin has built a service matrix covering multiple platforms: Devin Desktop, Devin Cloud, Devin CLI, Devin Review. Existing users will receive online updates and automatic migration of subscriptions and configurations.
