Elon Musk-related shell companies are reported to have purchased land outside Houston; the chip factory may be built here.

On June 3, news reports said that a shell company associated with Musk has recently purchased property in a rural area outside Houston, Texas, in the past few weeks, suggesting it may be finalizing a site for a planned $55 billion chip factory, Terafab. The Terafab project is jointly driven by SpaceX, Tesla, and xAI, aiming to provide chip support for artificial intelligence and robotics projects, with total investment of up to $119 billion. Land registration records show that a company called “WIT Tech LLC” has already bought at least 6 parcels of land in Grimes County, totaling more than 6,000 acres (equivalent to nearly 10 square miles), and the transaction amount has not been disclosed.
