Deep Tide TechFlow news: On June 02, the White House issued a presidential executive order calling for advancing advanced AI innovation and safety. The order requires that, within 30 days, priority be given to strengthening the cybersecurity defenses of national security systems, federal government information systems, and the Department of War information systems, and that CISA issue the relevant operational directives.

The order also requires the Treasury Department to take the lead in establishing an AI cybersecurity coordination mechanism, working with the AI industry and key infrastructure operators to carry out software vulnerability scanning, verification, remediation, and patch distribution.

In addition, within 60 days, an assessment and voluntary cooperation framework for “covered frontier models” must be developed, while also making clear that this shall not be used to establish any mandatory licensing or approval requirements for the development, release, or distribution of new AI models.
