Mars Finance News, June 2: U.S. pre-market news and highlights

  1. The three major U.S. stock index futures edged lower. Nasdaq futures fell 0.11%, S&P 500 index futures fell 0.16%, and Dow Jones futures fell 0.41%.
  2. Major European stock indices rose across the board. Germany’s DAX rose 0.75%, the UK’s FTSE 100 rose 0.15%, France’s CAC rose 0.55%, and Europe’s STOXX 50 rose 1.02%.
  3. Cryptocurrencies fell. Bitcoin fell to $69,247.6, down 4.1% over the past 24 hours; Ethereum fell to $1,978.35, down 0.39% over the past 24 hours.
  4. A German commercial bank lowered its gold price forecast for end-2026 to $4,800 per ounce. It also cut its silver price forecast for end-2026 from $90 per ounce to $80 per ounce.
  5. With investors continuing to pour into the semiconductor sector and optimism about strong long-term growth potential driven by artificial intelligence, U.S. semiconductor stocks rose in pre-market trading. The VanEck Semiconductor ETF was up 1.8% pre-market, Nvidia rose 1.5%, and Microchip Technology rose 9%.
  6. U.S. software stocks generally fell in pre-market trading. Investors were concerned that the widespread adoption of AI would disrupt the software industry, putting pressure on long-term growth. Microsoft fell 2.85%, Salesforce fell 3.8%, Adobe fell 2.5%, Oracle fell 3.7%, Workday fell 4.6%, and Palantir fell 3.1%.
  7. SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-won said SK hynix plans to double wafer production capacity within five years. He noted that the bottleneck in storage chip capacity may persist until 2030.
  8. Storage maker Kioxia said that hyperscale data centers are seeking to sign NAND contracts covering 2029 and beyond.
  9. Nvidia announced that Spectrum-X Ethernet silicon photonics technology has now entered full-scale mass production, improving network energy efficiency by 5x versus traditional transceivers.
  10. Mavenir Technologies rose more than 25% in pre-market trading. In the news, Jensen Huang publicly backed Mavenir Technologies, saying it could become “the next trillion-dollar company,” bringing the strategic cooperation between the two companies to the forefront.
  11. Tiger International issued a notice stating that starting June 12, it will suspend existing investors’ accounts from opening new positions or adding to positions in all products within China.
  12. HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise) jumped more than 28% in pre-market trading. The company expects strong server demand growth over the next 18 months.
  13. Victoria’s Secret was up nearly 50% at one point in pre-market trading. The company’s Q2 sales guidance came in above expectations.
  14. STMicroelectronics rose more than 10% in pre-market trading. The company announced that, due to sustained strong demand driven by AI infrastructure and progress in capacity expansion, it has raised its full-year revenue target for the data center business.
  15. According to filings disclosed to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Google’s parent company Alphabet plans to offer $15 billion in Class A common stock and Class C equity.
  16. Berkshire Hathaway acquired Taylor Morrison Home for $6.8 billion, viewed as a vote of confidence in the U.S. housing market.
  17. Super Micro Computer partnered with Arm to launch a series of new computing platforms featuring Arm AGI processors.
  18. Alibaba’s Qwen 3.7 series multimodal large model, Qwen3.7-Plus, achieves a new breakthrough in multimodal hybrid intelligence. (Tech Stock Report)
