Lately I’ve been debating whether to go for interactions—this airdrop thing, basically. At its core, it’s gambling with time and Gas for a blind box. My approach is pretty old-school: first, plot the “cost of being anti-snipe” as a baseline of background noise—stop once you go over that line; otherwise, it’s easy to keep brushing it off and end up getting more and more hooked.

And with all the on-chain ordering and MEV mess, it’s also pretty discouraging; retail complaints that validators are taking too much aren’t exactly without reason… So I’m even more inclined to pick projects with relatively transparent rules and straightforward interaction paths. I’d rather do less than set up a bunch of alt accounts, only to get flagged as a witch and end up paying extra fees.

Anyway, I set a cap for myself: I only check the task list once a day. If I don’t see any new stuff that’s “highly certain,” I let it go—missed chances are fine. The most expensive part of FOMO isn’t not getting the airdrop; it’s that itch to click and can’t keep your hands off.
