Israel will expand military operations against Lebanon, with residents in the southern suburbs of Beirut mass evacuating.
The Israeli Prime Minister ordered strikes on Dahiyeh in the southern suburbs of Beirut, expanding operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Thousands of residents have evacuated, traffic congestion has occurred, and markets are worried that a fragile ceasefire may be further impacted. Since the US-Iran ceasefire took effect in April this year, Israel has largely avoided targeting Beirut city center but has continued airstrikes on the southern and eastern regions, with Hezbollah still attacking Lebanese military positions and targets in the north. Dahiyeh is considered a key stronghold for Hezbollah in Beirut, and the situation could escalate again, further intensifying regional tensions.
