Lately, I’ve been bouncing back and forth between the mainnet and L2 again and again—basically getting taught a lesson by gas fees. On the mainnet, I basically only do two things now: big, low-frequency stuff, or those “miss it and it’s really gone” claims. Everything else—those little, fragmented interactions—gets dumped onto L2. What I save isn’t money, it’s my mood… otherwise, clicking around in the wallet a couple of times and it starts making me question life.

And don’t pretend the experience is great either: L2 is definitely smooth, but when you need to pull funds back to the mainnet, the time + costs both spike, and your mental state can be pretty much wrecked. So I gave myself a simple, low-tech rule: I slowly accumulate a little at a time on L2, and once it’s built up enough, I bridge back in one go—no more constantly moving house.

Also, haven’t people been talking about tax increases and compliance being tightened and loosened lately? Either way, for someone like me who only picks up scraps, the impact is: I don’t want to move funds in and out frequently anymore. If it can be handled on-chain, I handle it on-chain. If I can drag it out, I drag it out… stacking patience like sand. For now, that’s just how it is.
