China Council for the Promotion of International Trade: The global trade friction index continued to be high in March

This morning (May 29), the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade held a press conference to release the latest issue of the Global Trade Friction Index. Data shows that in March this year, the global trade friction index continued to be high. From the comprehensive index perspective, the global trade friction index in March 2026 was 104, indicating a high level. The amount involved in global trade friction measures decreased by 29.1% year-on-year, and increased by 2.8% month-on-month. From the country-specific index perspective, among the 20 countries (regions) under monitoring, the United States, India, and the European Union ranked the top three in the global trade friction index. The United States involved the largest amount in global trade friction measures, with the U.S. leading for 11 months out of the past 12 months. (CCTV News)
