The Beijing Municipal Tax Service has released a notice stating that the country’s first online departure tax refund store has officially been launched in Beijing. The first batch of centralized departure tax refund drop-off points for the hotel industry in Beijing has also been put into operation at the same time. After overseas tourists shop online, they can apply for tax refunds directly at hotels, and the coverage of departure tax refund services has been further expanded. Angela, a tourist from Indonesia, bought a product bearing a “Departure Tax Refund” label through an online shopping platform, and it was delivered to her hotel directly by courier.
