With strong U.S. mediation, the tense situation in the Middle East has brought a dramatic breakthrough toward peace.

On June 1, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump (Donald Trump) posted breaking news on his personal X account, announcing to the world that he has successfully intervened and brought an end to the armed conflict between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

U.S. forces fully withdraw, pledge not to enter Beirut

In his post, Trump first outlined the latest developments regarding the U.S. military deployment in the Middle East. He said that he had just had a “very productive” call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

After coordination, Trump made a clear military decision: “No troops will go to (Beirut, Lebanon).” He further confirmed that any U.S. forces that were already en route to Lebanon have now “turned back,” completely removing concerns that the U.S. might become directly involved in ground fighting in Lebanon.

Both sides reach consensus: full cessation of hostilities and mutual non-aggression

In addition to withdrawing U.S. forces, Trump also announced encouraging ceasefire news. He said that through the U.S. side’s “senior representatives,” he and Hezbollah were able to communicate very smoothly.

According to Trump, Israel and Hezbollah have reached the following two major peace agreements:

  • Full ceasefire: Hezbollah agrees that all firing and attack actions will immediately stop.
  • Mutual non-aggression: Both sides pledge that Israel will not attack Hezbollah, and Hezbollah will not attack Israel.
