The National Health Commission and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine issued the "Ebola Virus Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Plan (2026 Edition)."
The plan introduces that Ebola Virus Disease, previously known as Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever, is an acute infectious disease caused by infection with the Ebola virus, characterized by high pathogenicity and high mortality rate.
It is mainly transmitted through direct contact with the blood, body fluids, secretions, excretions, and contaminated objects of patients, deceased individuals, or infected animals.
Clinical manifestations primarily include sudden fever, extreme fatigue, headache, muscle pain, frequent vomiting, severe diarrhea, which may be accompanied by bleeding and multi-organ dysfunction.
The average case fatality rate is about 50%, with some strains reaching up to 90%.
It is mainly endemic in sub-Saharan Africa, and there have been no reports of indigenous or imported cases in China. (CCTV News)
