One of the recent realisations I had which I was aware of for a long time but couldn't make peace with was that we must give up the desire to be understood.

It's strange that we expect strangers to understand us while those closest to us seem to be blind towards it, because they don't want to.
Its never the lack of information but the lack of ability to process it or even wanting to process.
Its actually one of those rare situations where the intent is far more important than the outcome because the outcome is biased but if someone is actually putting in the effort to understand you, that's a huge deal in itself.
