Mong Kok rape case in Hong Kong withdrawn: Two Mainland men released with no self-incriminating admissions, one granted litigation fees
There has been progress in a gang rape case in Hong Kong: two mainland men are charged with sexually assaulting a drunken woman at a hotel in Mong Kok in November 2025. The prosecution withdrew the charges and was granted approval, and the two have been released. The magistrate said that although the two admitted to having sexual relations with the complainant, this does not constitute any self-incrimination concern; the prosecution said it decided to withdraw the charges after further investigation and legal advice. Community disclosures suggest the two may be ME BD.
