Rupee weakness intensifies cost pressures for Indian airlines, with Indian oil companies providing additional relief

CryptoWorld News reports that, according to foreign media, India's state-owned refining companies will keep domestic flight jet fuel prices unchanged, after airlines requested a temporary halt on further price hikes amid the impact of the Iran war. According to spokespeople from these state-owned refineries, the domestic flight jet fuel price in Delhi will remain at 104,927 rupees per thousand liters (equivalent to $1,104.25) in June. In April, the so-called aviation turbine fuel prices increased by 8.6%, and the government has asked for stability in May. Refining companies have provided additional relief to Indian airlines by lowering international flight jet fuel prices. India has announced several measures to ease the impact on the aviation industry, such as airport landing fee rebates and reduced fuel taxes on flights departing from its largest airports in Delhi and Mumbai. Airlines are also coping with the weakening rupee, which makes their costs for paying aircraft leases and overseas airport fees in dollars higher.

104,927 rupees sounds scary, but compared to international prices, it's still a reasonable rate?
