Just muted a few groups, and when I lit up my phone, there were dozens of unread messages. Once I started scrolling further, my head started to feel hot—I wanted to place an order… Plainly put, it’s not group chat messages or KOLs that should take the blame for impulsive buying; in the end, the one who hits “confirm” is you. It’s just that groups are more like emotional contagion, and KOLs are more like “giving you a reason.” Both sides are pretty good at grabbing that FOMO.

The debate over NFT royalties has gotten even louder lately: creators want income, the secondary market wants liquidity, and the moment you scroll through the timeline, it’s full of people taking sides. After you’ve seen it enough, you realize that more information doesn’t necessarily make you clearer-headed—it can actually make it easier for you to get pulled into the flow. Anyway, my current approach is pretty simple: when I see all the hype, I wait till the next day. Then I can still clearly explain “what I’m buying and why I’m buying it” before I make a move. It’s okay to slow down—it means fewer traps.
