From May 26 to 28, Zhu Yongxin, Vice Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, led a delegation to visit Namibia, where he met with Namibia’s Vice President Wietbui, the Speaker of the National Assembly Sarah, and the Chairperson of the National Council Muhah.

Zhu Yongxin said that China-Namibia’s traditional friendship is profound and has remained steadfast despite the vicissitudes of international developments. This year is the opening year of China’s “Fifteen-Five” period. China is willing to work with Namibia to, guided by the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and the outcomes of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, carry forward the traditional friendship, strengthen the alignment of development strategies, deepen practical cooperation, and drive the China-Namibia comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level, and jointly build a China-Africa community with a shared future in the new era that is truly “all-weather.”

Namibian leaders said that they would like to express their thanks to China for the valuable support it has provided Namibia for a long time. Namibia will firmly and unswervingly uphold the One-China principle, maintain close high-level exchanges with China, expand exchanges and cooperation across all fields, and continuously enrich the connotation of the China-Namibia comprehensive strategic partnership.
