Quantum Machines announced a median fidelity of 99.5% for two-qubit operations on the commercial nine-qubit superconducting processor Novera from Rigetti — when operated through their own control system.

Configuration was carried out via the OPX1000 platform and the QUAlibrate software product. Full calibration took 10 days.

The median fidelity of single-qubit operations reached 99.93%. These results were obtained across all nine qubits and 11 available connections between them.

Source: Quantum Machines. Quantum Machines emphasized: the achieved metrics meet the target specifications claimed by Rigetti for Novera. In fact, the company demonstrated that a commercial processor can be brought to the specified parameters without using proprietary developer infrastructure.

Rigetti confirmed that Novera can demonstrate high accuracy even when working with third-party control systems and software.

Novera is designed for local deployment and is built on the same architecture as Rigetti’s larger superconducting systems. Users of solutions based on it include Fermilab, Montana State University, and Horizon Quantum.

Recall that in May, Quantus developers pointed out that the crypto market is unprepared for the quantum threat.
