More than ten years ago in "Person of Interest," the characters would say when trying to escape:

"I have one billion dollars worth of Bitcoin."
Back then, it was probably just a plot device created by the writers for hackers, the dark web, and cross-border transfers.
Now, when people in the crypto world hear this line, they can't help but feel a bit amused.
In 2014, one billion dollars in BTC was roughly around one hundred thousand coins at the time's price.
Back then, the characters in the show used it to buy their lives, and most people outside the screen probably still thought this thing was far from their reach.
Twelve years have passed, and many things have changed.
BTC has gone from a gray chip in TV dramas to a player on the global asset allocation table.
It has been in front of everyone's eyes for a long time.
But back then, no one truly paid it much attention when they saw it.
