A girl went viral today. Gas light on, $20 in her bank account, two McDonald’s hash browns on the seat next to her. Up at 6am for a job that isn’t covering her basic needs.

She looked into the camera and said “I’m so sick of America.”
And I felt that.
Because this isn’t a lazy girl. This is a working girl. Up before the sun, showing up every day, doing everything she was told to do. And she’s rationing gas money and eating $2 worth of food for breakfast.
Here’s what nobody wants to say out loud. 36% of Americans under 35 own a home. 42% of Gen Z lives paycheck to paycheck. 52% of Millennials are delaying marriage, kids, and every major life decision because they simply cannot afford them. The median net worth for someone in their 20s is $6,600.
Six thousand six hundred dollars. That’s it. That’s a generation’s worth of effort reduced to a number that wouldn’t cover two months rent in most cities.
She’s not sick of working. She’s sick of working and having nothing to show for it. She’s sick of a system that takes everything and gives back just enough to keep you showing up tomorrow.
It never used to be like this.
And we should all be a lot angrier than we are.
