Deep Tide TechFlow News: On May 31, according to Cambodian media KohsantepheapDaily, a 53-year-old Chinese real-estate company owner, Yang Weixin, was kidnapped in Phnom Penh by a criminal gang. The suspects, in the early hours of May 30, extorted cryptocurrency worth $2,000,000 from his wife via the victim’s phone. After failing to receive the ransom, they subsequently killed the victim and left his body in a car. Surveillance footage shows that on the evening of May 29, three suspects parked at the victim’s residence parking lot and forcibly took him away. Local police have confirmed that the case is one of kidnapping, extortion, and death, and the investigation is ongoing.
