According to Koh Santepheap Daily, a kidnapping incident targeting Chinese citizens occurred in Rung Roeung District, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The victim was 53-year-old Chinese real estate company owner Yang Weixin. The victim was kidnapped by three kidnappers on the evening of May 29, and the kidnappers then extorted $2 million in cryptocurrency from his family. Due to the family’s failure to pay the ransom in time, the victim was beaten and tortured before being killed by the kidnapping gang. The victim’s body and the involved vehicle were found near a garbage dump in Phnom Penh on the morning of May 30. Currently, local police have intervened in the investigation.
