Golden Finance reports that, according to CCTV News, on May 30th local time, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin stated at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore that the U.S. aims to reach an agreement in the U.S.-Iran negotiations, but if the talks fail, the U.S. is prepared to resume military strikes.
The day before, U.S. President Donald Trump held a meeting in the White House Situation Room regarding the Iran situation, but no final decision was made on the related agreement.
In February this year, the U.S. and Israel jointly launched an attack on Iran, followed by U.S. sanctions on Iranian ports, and Iran also implemented special controls on navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The conflict has resulted in numerous casualties and a rise in global energy prices. (CCTV News)
