I'm not very good at telling brand stories, but after looking into PFP/membership for a long time, I feel the long-term value isn’t really about the “image” itself—it’s about continuously giving holders a reason that needs no explanation: if I hold it, I can get into certain circles, get priority on certain things, and avoid fewer pitfalls. Otherwise, once the hype is over, all that’s left is an awkward profile picture sitting there.

Recently, on-chain data tools and tagging systems have again been criticized for being lagging and possibly misleading, so I’ve become more cautious instead. Many projects’ “strong communities” look real, but in fact it’s just the mirrored shine created by a few large buy-and-sell swings… Put simply, short-term attention is cheap, while long-term trust is expensive. When I look at membership-type projects now, I first check “who provides the liquidity when they exit,” and then I look at the narrative—start with that.
